About Leicester Actors Network
Leicester Actors Network was born in November 2023 when three passionate creatives – LJ Johnson, Guy Wah, and Ken Ogborn – independently had the same idea: to create a thriving network for Leicester’s performing arts community. Drawing on experience with similar networks in other cities, we shared a vision of uniting Leicester’s creative talent, bridging gaps in the city’s arts scene, and showcasing the incredible depth of performers and creatives the region has to offer. Guy has since moved on, but Ken and LJ continue to manage the network.
Our mission is to bring together Leicester’s creative communities, foster collaboration, and raise the visibility of performers across the city and county.
Whether you’re working on stage or screen, or as an amateur or a professional, we aim to create opportunities to share information, develop exciting projects, and build a supportive peer network.
With a rapidly growing Facebook group of over 200 members and a monthly meetup established in January 2024, we’re proud of what’s been achieved in just over a year.
We’re also laying the groundwork for collaboration with some of the city’s biggest arts organisations, while developing long-term plans to expand opportunities for performers and creatives throughout Leicester and Leicestershire.
Leicester Actors Network is just getting started – and we’re excited about what we can create together.
Collaboration is our middle name. Join us as we build a stronger, more connected creative community!
We welcome new members to our meetings every month and we actively pursue opportunities to collaborate with organisations both within the region and further afield.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like to talk to us!
